welcome back to the weekly {five} â a little something to end your weekend (or start the week) & stay in the loop for all things five oâclock fridays!
after a few week break (a week longer than anticipated sry đŦ), weâre back in action!
iâve definitely spent the last few weeks going back and forth trying to determine whatâs next for FOF.
transparently â a month ago i was feeling burnt out because 1/ i felt like i always needed to be planning something, 2/ i was always stressed about how many people were signing up for events, & 3/ because i attend every event, it felt 100% of my free time was going towards FOF.
as a result, here are the changes i will be making:
reducing # of events a month â one paid and one free (or very low cost)
all paid events will start with a waitlist
this will serve as a soft commitment (80%+ chance you will be there!)
once the tickets are available, it will be released to the waitlist (& paid subscribers) first.
if you sign up for the waitlist and donât get a ticket more than twice, you will lose access to the waitlist
as always, iâm open to feedback and thoughts!
1. funny feature â a little something that made me literally LOL this week
when you get a slack that almost sends you over the edge đŦ
Enable 3rd party cookies or use another browser
2. a lil city slice â a potentially off the beaten path nyc rec
colonie â is this underrated or is it just me, bk heights đŗâ¨
if youâre anything like me, youâre probably sleeping on the brunch scene in bk heights.
while entering the neighborhood immediately means starting to question what career pivots i need to make to eventually afford a brownstone, i'm truly surprised how iâve only recently started exploring what bk heights has to offer.
my recommendation: brunch at colonie (get the biscuits) and then take a stroll on the promenade â even better, bring a book and enjoy reading with a nice breeze â simply thank me later đ¤ˇđžââī¸
3. two cents â a quick question or two for you
now that weâre back in action, i would love to know what your spring/summer vibe is (please answer and be honest đ):
4. & now you know â highlighting the girls, gays, and theys (or topics) that we all should know about
well all know things in this đī¸ country only continue to be increasingly wild â especially given that it hasnât even been 100 days of this đ¤ĸ 𤎠man
while it definitely feels like things are in a nosedive decline for this country, there are people actively pushing back and every win, regardless of the size, truly counts.
5. up and coming â whatâs going on for five oâclock fridays in the coming weeks
stay tuned for upcoming events in the next few weeks!
reminder, to get earlier access to events you can upgrade to the paid substack (only $5/month (!!) & helps for planning events)
any cancellations for sold out events will be shared first via instagram so follow there to stay in the loop!
friendly reminder that costs always directly cover the event (eg. renting out space, securing a res, towards your meal) or go towards tip!
up & coming1:
stay tuned for next week!
if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, fun stories â please share!
xx

refunds to all events are up to my discretion
