welcome back to the weekly {five} — a little something to end your weekend (or start the week) & stay in the loop for all things five o’clock fridays!
i feel like 99% of the time, i’m very predictable and minimally chaotic. that being said, something about this time of year has me making impulsive decisions left and right.
i simply do not think i’m a seasonal depression gal but the way i suddenly feel the need to be everywhere, all at once should truly be studied 👀
regardless, the warmer weather means i will be categorically outside (but always in bed by midnight bc still grandma vibes) until further notice 🤷🏾♀️
1. funny feature — a little something that made me literally LOL this week
if this isn’t me as a parent, i don’t want it 🤷🏾♀️🤪

2. a lil city slice — a potentially off the beaten path nyc rec
burrow — simply can’t turn down a good meal, williamsburg 🐿️✨
founded by an ex-EMP chef (eleven madison park, if you’re like me and also didn’t know what that meant 🤷🏾♀️), burrow is an 8 course tasting menu inclusive of cocktail and wine pairings.
when i tell you the vibes were giving ✨curated & intentional✨, i couldn’t mean it more.
from the moment you walked in, you enter a homey, welcoming space. sammy & his team welcome you with a crafted cocktail & you spend time getting to know your fellow diners.
once the meal starts, you simply won’t want it to end. a continuous flow of fresh ingredients, creatively & thoughtfully prepared, accompanied by wine pairings.
there’s only 12 spots and the menu changes weekly so make sure to check it out!
*currently does not accommodate dietary restrictions 😬
3. two cents — a quick question or two for you
what is your favorite type of event (& yes, you can only pick one):
4. & now you know — highlighting the girls, gays, and theys (or topics) that we all should know about
Jonathan Capehart & Eugene Daniels — for being the first two out, gay Black men to host a news program together on a major network 👏
in a world where it seems that DEI policies are being reversed left and right (because they literally are and it’s WILD), all representation wins deserve to be celebrated.
after MSNBC experienced declines in viewership in the past year, it’s refreshing to see the acknowledgement that increasing representation and diversity will only serve the network well.
5. up and coming — what’s going on for five o’clock fridays in the coming weeks
warmer weather means you’ll only regret it more if you spend all of your time in your apartment 👀
don’t be lame, come out to an event 💃🪩
reminder, ways to get earlier access to events:
